The unveiling of the DOT sign I designed with 18 of my bilingual art students and the DOT
I wanted to create a sense of ownership and confidence, through art, in my bilingual class students who felt that the monolingual students looked down upon them as less intelligent because they were bilingual.
The street sign we designed raises awareness for pedestrians to pay attention when crossing the street in the Bronx. The signs are located by Walton Avenue and Burnside Avenue in the Bronx.
